Scripture of the Day

Psalm 42:5

There is hope in God in any situation. How?

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (1 Peter 1:3-6)

With hope, and the strength of the Holy Spirit within you, you will overcome all things.

In today’s Bible verse are some of the truest words ever written:

“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance.” (Psalm 42:5)

As you can see, hope is a very small word, but it is one of the most powerful words. Why? Because in hope there lies the power of the human soul to turn to God and live believing His promises are going to come true.

“Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the LORD.” (Psalm 31:24)

Did you know that some people think hope is an emotion? Yes, they say to themselves “I’m feeling hopeful”, but true hope is a discipline, a determination to believe in God’s reality and power, and believe what the Bible says even when everything seems to be crashing down around you.

That is the true power of hope. Hope looks at the circumstance and, says, “The enemy can do his worst to me. But I still will have hope. I still will know that this is the day the Lord has made, and I will rejoice. Because my hope is in God and He will take care of me.”

“This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalms 118:24)

The number one key to surviving any challenge or crisis in life is hope. Hope in God means having hope that Jesus loves you. Having hope that God is, right now, working out a solution for you. Having hope that the future you place in God’s hands will be better than the present you hold on your own.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

By choosing hope, and believing God’s Word, you will overcome all things.

“But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

When the Bible says, “Hope in God!” it does not mean, “Cross your fingers”. It means to anticipate great things from God. Hope is anchored in the absolute nature and character of God. His promises and word towards you are true and you can trust Him.

Take responsibility and place your hope in God and start experiencing peace and discover grace to change and allow God’s promised realities to be yours.

Don’t quit… Put your Hope in God.
