At Cornell University they have an incredible piece of scientific equipment known as the tunneling electron microscope. (I do love talking about this little invention. It provides a mental image of my Lack of Concern.) This microscope is so powerful that by firing electrons you can actually see images of the atom, the infinitesimally minute building blocks of our universe. If I were using that microscope right now, I still wouldn’t be able to locate my interest in Global Warming and the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.
Why are so many people worried about Climate Change/Global Warming? Because our American youth do not have enough problems to worry about today. I was born in the early fifties. I had things to worry me. When I went to church, I heard sermons on eternal damnation and the fact that the Bible was being fulfilled. If you do not think preachers screaming about the Book of Revelation will scare a little girl, you did not attend my church.
Then I started to grammar school. I felt like a big girl….until the teacher showed us how to flip our desk and crawl under them in the event of a bomb raid. Placing my hand over my heart to recite the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a prayer were relaxing moments for me. I made it through grammar school and off I went to Pike County High School.
I can relax now, right? I am a teenager. Not so fast there, kiddo? I have a brother and cousins who are seniors. They had to register for the military draft. Their number could be picked which would send them to Vietnam. I need better clothes since I am in high school. How will that happen? My Daddy left on a Trailways bus when I was 5, never to return. My Mother worked in a textile mill. Supporting 3 children on that check was not easy. I could babysit for my nephews and nieces..that should work. Slow down again, kid. My Mother insisted that I babysit… but I could not take money from my brother for it.
I simply had to find a real job. I did, but we had no family car. How would I get back and forth to work? My brother, whose kids I kept for free, loaned me his car to commute back and forth to work. That was a relief. Now, I could buy a few decent dresses and start saving for the luxuries of a class ring, graduation invitations and maybe even a yearbook by the time I reached my senior year.
I will never forget that day in high school when I heard the screams. They had told Lonnie Silver’s sister that Lonnie had been killed in Vietnam. Lonnie was a handsome and polite young man. He gave his life for my country. That is not a small gift, my friend.
These are my personal rules as I care for my little piece of the Earth:
I do not use plastic products unless it is beyond my control. Have you ever worked in a facility that makes plastic? Get a job in a place that does…go through a couple meltdowns on thermoformers/extruders and then get back to me on that ok? How much plastic do you see along sides of the roads? On the beach? In the ocean? In your children’s toys (proudly stamped, Made in China)? In your refrigerator? In your kitchen?
I do not use a cell phone. Exactly what is the impact of electromagnetic radiation on climate change? But, what will happen if I should have an accident in my car and I have no cell phone? No problem, every person who comes by the scene of the wreck will have the pictures posted and re-posted via cell phone on Their Mighty & Holy Scrolls of Facebook before the wheels on the car stop turning.
I trust God to control the thermostat of his Earth. I do believe the trash producing idiots among us could have an effect on God’s future decisions. As more trash is packed on and into the earth’s surface, he may feel inclined to use that trash to fuel more volcanoes. To make lava to create more un-trashed land. He may decide that more hurricanes are necessary to clean our coast lines and beaches, since people are too sorry to handle the job. I know that God can extinguish the wildfires in our country “as if they were the tiny flame of a match.” Why should he?
So…there you have my little opinion about ….Global Warming and Jamal Khashoggi….I DON’T CARE AND I AM SICK OF HEARING ABOUT BOTH ISSUES.
TO ALL YOU SNOWFLAKES OUT THERE…..YOU NEED SOME REAL PROBLEMS……..GET OFF YOUR CELL PHONES, OUT OF YOUR SAFE PLACES AND CRYING CLOSETS, PUT AWAY YOUR REDBULL AND BI-POLAR BULL SHIT AND GET A JOB. DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE. GO HELP BUILD THE WALL ON OUR SOUTHERN BORDER. PICK UP TRASH ON SIDES OF THE ROADS. GO REGISTER FOR THE DRAFT….IF NOT….ROBERT MUELLER MAY COME AND GET YOU NEXT.
TO AL GORE AND ALL YOU OTHER HYPOCRITE OWNERS AND SUPPORTERS OF PRIVATE JETS (WHO CRY ABOUT WANTING MY TAX MONEY FOR GLOBAL WARMING)….I THINK YOU HAVE THE ABSOLUTE RIGHT TO FLY ABOVE EVERYONE IN YOUR PRIVATE JETS…….I JUST DO NOT THINK YOU SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO LAND.
