Unity Covered Bridge

WGN – 37-20-17 Unity Covered Bridge – Built in 1936 in Lane County by Lane County spanning Fall Creek on Jasper Lowell Rd., single span, 90 feet long, Howe trusses

Oregon Bridge #14721. Cost $2800. The first covered bridge in the area was built about ¾ mile downstream by Nels Roney in 1890. It was restricted to foot traffic in 1936 and finally removed in 1953. Lane County used the state’s standard 90-foot Howe truss design with the addition of a lengthy window on the east side to help motorists see oncoming traffic.
