I do not like getting older, I look back on my past years and see the person I once was, young and vibrant, bringing up two children and multitasking in so many ways. I fell into bed at night exhausted, but I always was grateful for what I had accomplished. I would wake up the next day and start all over again, but one day I woke up, and age had caught up.
The tasks I set out to do, took longer than they once did. I would go to bed thinking, I wish I had finished up this job, or that job. I would take on projects in a lot of ways of not wanting a job to defeat me, I had to beat it. During those years, I looked at the world through a glass dimly. I though the world was just so peachy fine. I was a new Mom when President Jimmy Carter was elected as President. I have to say, young eyes do not see quite as clearly as old dim eyes do. Really, I am saying the older you are the wiser you become. In these times of the golden years, it may sound strange to you, but these old dim eyes see so much more than I once could see. You even begin to see through people, you recognize lies, you can just see when something is not right.
Yes, I would love to be young and vibrant again, but I do not want to become stupid either. Stop, now take the time to really understand what I just wrote about eyes, and seeing. If you can’t get it, please ask and old person. I remember in school when we would read poetry and then decipher it until we felt like we understood the poet’s meaning, or intentions. I would like to encourage the people of youth, please do not think your professor is the wealth of knowledge. Believe me, Grandma and Grandpa may very well have the professor beat, especially in the Common sense department.
My Grandpa only went to 8th grade, but let me tell you he was really one of the smartest men I knew. Now some people get things backwards. Old Joe Biden thinks that Hunter is the smartest man he knows, but that is a story for another time. I wish you would take time to really listen to the News, use your mind to think things through logically. Did what you heard really makes sense? I remember hearing a Supreme Court Justice at her confirmation hearing being ask if she could define a woman. “She actually said no, she was not a scientist”. Wait, What? I hope I never get that stupid, and that is what we have for a Supreme Court Justice. What I want to tell you is please take your head out of the sand, dig into politics, back the politician’s that are good, honest, and hopefully Christian. Take the time to understand the laws that are being presented, how they will benefit you and your children. Take part, and join your local County GOP, please get involved. Focus your eyes on the truth, You will be the Wiser for it.
