My daughters late German Shepard would open the back door the same way..
He was very smart and could figure out how to do most near anything he wanted to do.. Sadly he developed cancer and after living with it for almost a year started to have so much pain that even the pills were not helping they had to put him in the vet clinic on a constant pain drip. Sadly he passed away in his sleep one night.
