Why do right handed people wear watches on their left hand?

Right-handed people wear watches on their left wrist primarily for convenience and to prevent damage to the watch. The left is the non-dominant hand for most people, (90% of the population are right handed) meaning it’s less likely to get in the way during daily activities like writing or using tools, and is less prone to bumps and scratches. This tradition started with early wristwatches that were worn on the left hand for right-handed people to easily wind them with their dominant right hand.
