Why do we have an Angel “sitting” on top of the Christmas tree?

The LEGEND is as follows:

It is mid-December and Santa is nervous, as always this time of year, about Christmas Eve & all the prep that must be done.

In a joyful manner he asked Mrs Clause “How is my suit?  Is it ready again this year?   Mrs Clause replied:  “No!!! Every year all I do is clean, press & fold —– clean, press & fold —– clean, press & fold.  Then on the 24th you go get it all dirty again by running up & down those sooty chimneys.  This year, do it yourself!!!”  This response set ole Santa back on his heels but he knew to not say a word.

He said to himself, I’ll go down to the workshops where the elves are putting toys together and packing my sleigh ——- they are always such a happy & jolly good group.

So Santa went to the workshops and NOTHING was happening —— this was crunch-time of year in prep for the 24th.  Some little elves were sleeping, some were playing poker, some were drinking beer & telling jokes, but no progress was being made to pack the toys and the sleigh for the annual trip.  Santa asked? Is everything packed for the 24th?  All the elves were very quiet.   Finally one little elf said, “As the self appointed steward of the elves, we are upset about the benefits, the no-overtime policy, the vacation time sucks, etc., etc!!!

Now Santa is getting very upset & angry. He is about to completely blow a gasket, but he knew he couldn’t say a word.

Steam was coming out of his ears as he tried to analyze what was happening at the rebellion at the North Pole & this time of crisis.

Santa “stomped” down to the reindeer pens to talk to them.  All was peaceful & serene as the reindeer munched on hay & oats.

Santa, in an up-beat manner, asked “Hey guys are you all ready to go again this year?  Rudolph, will you lead again this year?  And Rudolph replied: Nope, Santa, I am tired of leading those idiots thru the clouds & fog & traffic —– find some else, I quit!!!

All this negativity, coming from everywhere, was almost the last straw before Santa completely lost his composure.

As Santa was standing there at the North Pole & thinking: What am I going to do?

To say he was pissed-off would be an understatement. He was extremely upset & mad as hell!

Just then, from over the hill (snowdrift) could be heard the voice of a small angel. She was singing joyfully at the top of her lungs as she was thuggin & pulling a Christmas tree.  She was the happiest angel on earth as she thugged & pulled and sang Christmas carols.

As she got near Santa she said: Look Santa, I have our annual Christmas Tree.  Where do you want me to put it this year?

And Santa said: “__  ____  ___!”

And, that is the legend of why a little angel “sits” on top of the tree.

(BUT…She remained a Happy Little Angel and felt like she was on top of the world!)

Finish what you start… or wait until the last minute, because nothing fuels productivity like panic.
