In the United States, a pound of potato chips costs two hundred times more than a pound of potatoes.

Caesar salad has nothing to do with any of the Caesars of ancient Rome. It was first concocted in a bar in Tijuana, Mexico, in the 1920s.

There is a fish called the Blue Lingcod that has blue flesh. When it’s cooked, the blue color vanishes completely.

There’s a pepper, grown in Japan, known as the “Shishito  pepper.” Only one out of every ten is spicy, and there’s no way to know which one beforehand.
