There’s an annual conference called “The Boring Conference” on boring things. In the past, people have given talks on barcodes, sneezing, and the sounds of vending machines.

The pet rock became so popular when it came out that within the first six months of its release Gary Doll, the inventor, earned $ 15 million.

In 1958, Robert Lane from New York City named his son Winner, and later another son, Loser. Winner ended up as a criminal with a lengthy arrest record, and his son Loser went on to prep school on a scholarship, graduated from college, and joined the New York Police Department.
