Conflicting Thoughts
I must stop asking: How stupid can you be?
People seem to be taking it as a challenge.
-Sheila Tolley-
(1) Isn’t it weird that in America our flag and our culture offend so many people, but our benefits don’t?
(2) Only in America are legal citizens labeled “racists” and “Nazis” but illegal aliens are called “Dreamers.”
(3) Liberals say, “If confiscating all guns saves just one life, it’s worth it!” Well then, if deporting all illegals saves just one life, wouldn’t that be worth it?
(4) I can’t quite figure out how you can proudly wave the flag of another country but consider it punishment to be sent back there.
(5) The Constitution: It doesn’t need to be rewritten; it needs to be re-read.
(6) William F. Buckley said: “Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other points of view and are then shocked and offended when they discover there are other points of view.”
(7) ‘Need’ now means wanting someone else’s money. ‘Greed’ means wanting to keep your own. ‘Compassion’ is when a politician arranges the transfer.”
(8) Florida has had 119 hurricanes since 1850, but some people always insist that now they are due to climate change.
You can’t fix stupid…. I don’t care how much duct tape you use!

Fun Facts…US Presidents Part 3

The S in Harry S Truman’s name did not stand for anything. It was meant as a tribute to both of Truman’s grandfathers, both of whom had middle names starting with S.
Before he became an actor (and long before he worked in politics) Ronald Reagan worked as a lifeguard.
President Grover Cleveland once worked as a hangman.
When he took office in 1901, Theodore Roosevelt was the youngest person ever elected president at the age of 42.
William McKinley was once portrayed on an American $500 bill, but the McKinley bill was discontinued in 1969.
In 1910, William Howard Taft became the first sitting president to throw the opening ceremonial pitch at a Major League Baseball game.
Woodrow Wilson had just two years political experience as governor of New Jersey before he was elected president in 1912.

Astronomy Picture of the Day

The Nebulous Realm of WR 134
Image Credit & Copyright: Luigi Morrone and Telescope Live
Explanation: This cosmic snapshot covers a field of view over twice as wide as the full Moon within the boundaries of the high-flying constellation Cygnus. Made using astronomical narrowband filters, the image highlights the bright edge of a ring-like nebula traced by the glow of ionized hydrogen and oxygen gas. Embedded in the region’s expanse of interstellar clouds, the complex, glowing arcs are sections of shells of material swept up by the wind from Wolf-Rayet star WR 134, the brightest star near image center. Distance estimates put WR 134 about 6,000 light-years away, making this telescopic frame over 100 light-years across. Shedding their outer envelopes in powerful stellar winds, massive Wolf-Rayet stars have burned through their nuclear fuel at a prodigious rate and end their final phase of massive star evolution in a spectacular supernova. Their stellar winds and final supernova explosion enrich the interstellar material with heavy elements to be incorporated in future generations of stars.
