The Marula tree grows in South Africa. South African’s also call it, the Elephant Tree or Marriage Tree. The fruit from the Marula tree taste like a caramel flavored alcohol that the wild animals love to eat.
You can buy distilled Marula Tree liqueur (17% alcohol) from a liquor store if they carry that brand.

Here we are stuck at home and can’t go anywhere. I need to stay busy, and occupy my self. I went to the freezer and pulled out the zip lock bags of chicken bones I had frozen from baked chicken that I had pulled off the bone earlier. I also had a big zip lock bag of the turkey bones from de-boning the Christmas Turkey. I put all those bones in the big soup pot with about 3 quarts of water 1 table spoon of salt and 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar. I started it on the stove on high till it just began to boil and cut the stove to the very lowest temp. I will now cook those bones for around 30 hours. At that time I will strain all that delicious broth off into another pot where I can add all the vegetables I like. Maybe some noodles, any left over meat if you like, just make it the way you want, with or with out meat. This broth is full of collagen from the bones that you just cooked all those hours, and is so good for you. Now those bones that you cook for around 30 hours will be so soft you can crush them with your fingers. Just give them to your dog or cat, no danger of the bones hurting them at all, they are much to soft.
Remember, save and freeze all those bones from de-boning the roasted chicken and turkey you will be glad you did, because it does make the most delicious soup.
Hi Cathy….this does sound delicious. I actually take collagen supplements because of my weak bones. Natural is always better. Thanks for the great idea….This reminds me of an old song that I always loved by my favorite band, Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show. (Link Below)
ICU Cat: A nurse was saying she didn’t sign up for the difficulties that she was experiencing helping the sick Coronavirus patients. It’s a little sad so I didn’t include a link. Service members didn’t sign up for a war, but they got one. Then they were issued orders that they couldn’t fire on terrorist until they were fired on first. Some officials didn’t measure up.
There once was a man and a woman who had been married for more than 60 years. They talked about everything. They kept no secrets from each other… except that the old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet that she cautioned her husband never to open it or ask her about it.
For all these years he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would never recover.
In trying to sort out their affairs the little old man took down the shoe box and took it to his wife’s bedside. She agreed it was time that he should know what was in the box.
When he opened it he found 2 beautifully crocheted doilies and a stack of money totaling over $25,000. He asked her about the unusual contents.
“When we were married,” she said, ” my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doily.”
The little old man was so moved, he had to fight back tears. Only two precious doilies were in the box. She had only been angry with him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with joy and happiness.
“Sweetheart,” he said… “that explains the doilies, but what about all this money? Where did it all come from?”
Oh,” she said, ” that’s the money I made from selling the doilies.”
Explanation: From home this Full Moon looked bright. Around our fair planet it rose as the Sun set on April 7/8, the first Full Moon after the vernal equinox and the start of northern hemisphere spring. April’s full lunar phase was also near perigee, the closest point in the Moon’s elliptical orbit. In fact, it was nearer perigee than any other Full Moon of 2020 making it the brightest Full Moon of the year. To create the visual experience a range of exposures were blended to capture the emerging foreground foliage and bright lunar disk. The hopefull image of spring was recorded from a home garden in skies over Chongqing, China.
